Stargazing Camp for Geminids Meteor Shower 2019

The Geminids Meteor Shower, one of the most spectacular meteor shows in 2019, are going to happen in mid Dec. If you want to enjoy this meteor shower in a place that far away from the glow of city lights, you must join our Stargazing Camp that will be held at YHA Ngong Ping SG Davis Youth Hostel!

Please send email to [email protected] or call at (852) 2788 1638 for registration on or before 3 Dec 2019。Please state “Stargazing Camp for Geminids Meteor Shower 2019” and selected room type (dormitory bed/double room) during registration. Participants must also provide their full names in Chinese or English (same as that on Hong Kong Identity Card/Passport) for purchasing insurance.

 

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Limited quota, first-come first-served.
  2. Registration period starts from now till 3 December 2019.
  3. Participant must settle the payment at registration and keep the confirmation letter/receipt until end of activity. Except for special situations listed on “Terms & Conditions”, no alteration, cancellation or transfer quota shall be entertained, and all paid fee is not refundable.
  4. In case of insufficient enrollment, the activity will be cancelled. Hong Kong Youth Hostels Association (HKYHA) will contact and notify participants for refund.
  5. The fee includes instructor fee, star atlas, late-night snack (an instant bowl noodle per head), 1 night of designated accommodation and insurance. Participants must provide full names in Chinese or English (same as that on Hong Kong Identity Card/Passport) for purchasing insurance.
  6. Please be noted that participants must provide a valid membership card at check in in order to stay in the hostel and participant in this activity. If you are not a member of YHA or HI, you can apply the membership at hostel reception during check in. Each Member can bring a maximum of three Non-Members to register. Non-Member Price is applied to Non-Members.
  7. Participants can check-in from 4pm on 13 December 2019, and check out before 11am on 14 December 2019.
  8. If participants are not able to attend or absent from the activity, all paid fee will not be refunded.
  9. Participants aged 17 or below must join the activity under the guidance of an adult aged 18 or above. HKYHA and the instructor have the right to ask for age proof.
  10. All participants or their parents/guardians should ensure their health in good condition and do not suffer from any illness that renders them unfit for this activity. HKYHA and the coach shall not be liable for any injury or death happening in this activity due to health issue.
  11. HKYHA has the right to amend the details of activity without prior notice.
  12. HKYHA may conduct video and photo shooting during the activity. HKYHA reserves the right to use all the visual material(s) for any promotion of HKYHA.
  13. Adverse weather arrangement:
    • If Hong Kong Observatory announces that Thunderstorm Warning, Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal or Standby Signal No.1 is issued or will be issued, or the weather condition is unstable before event starts, the activity will be held as scheduled yet HKYHA or the instructor may move it to indoor.
    • If Hong Kong Observatory announces that Red/Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, Strong Wind Signal No.3 or higher Storm Signal is issued or will be issued at 12pm on event date, activity will be rescheduled. HKYHA will contact participants within 14 days from activity date for such arrangement.
    • If Warning or Signal mentioned above is cancelled by Hong Kong Observatory at 12pm, the activity will be held as scheduled.
    • HKYHA and the instructor have the right to move the activity to indoor immediately if the weather becomes unstable during the activity, all paid fee will not be refunded.
  14. If participants and their parents/guardians register this activity, it is assumed that they have already read and studied this Terms and Conditions, and they will be followed.
  15. HKYHA and the coach have the right to reject or stop anyone from participating in this activity if he/she fails to follow this Terms and Conditions or instruction of the instructor.
  16. HKYHA has the sole and final decision in case of any disputes.
