Guided Tours X Former Residents’ Storytelling: Explore the Local History

With the completion of the renovation and improvement works, the brand-new exhibition of Heritage of Mei Ho House is going to illustrate the lifestyles of the residents living in the resettlement blocks during the 50s to 70s, as well as the historical changes of the neighbourhood. Hence, public guided tours and fixed-point guided tours are specially set up to explain the architectural characteristics and humanistic spirit of Mei Ho House to visitors. Meanwhile, in collaboration with the in-depth tour organisation “Walk in Hong Kong”, a community tour on “Sham Shui Po — A Story of Grassroots Hong Kong” will be held to learn about the public housing development and grassroots life stories in Sham Shui Po; as well as with urban researcher and author, Sampson Wong, who will invite participants to take a stroll around Mei Ho House, observing along the way and exploring the interest of the community.

In addition, four members of Mei Ho House Alumni Network, who are also former residents living in the resettlement areas, are invited to give storytelling of life in the past. The throwback of the life scenes of the old days with different themes may is recalling the warm support and kindness among the neighbouring community.
