This summer, set off on a fun-filled cultural adventure with your little explorer at YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel!

Through storytelling, interactive experiences and hands-on crafts, families will discover festivals, traditions and everyday life from around the world. Learn, play and explore together as you celebrate different cultures and create joyful moments along the way.

[Storytelling Workshop] Exploring World Festivals with Dor Dor and Yuen Yuen: Searching for the Best Gift

Storytelling Workshop

Hong Kong is home to people from many different cultures. How do people around the world celebrate festivals? What interesting traditions and customs do they have? Join the characters from Dor Dor and Yuen Yuen: Searching for the Best Gift on a storytelling journey to Nepal, Mexico and beyond, and discover fascinating festivals, customs and cultural fun facts from around the world.

Led by Storytelling Ambassadors from the Multicultural in Action Project, CUHK, the workshop features lively storytelling, parent-child interaction and festival-themed origami. Families can enjoy the story together, get creative and take home their own handmade craft.

Through little stories, discover a big world and celebrate the joy and blessings shared across different cultures.

Latin Party Fun: Piñata Workshop

Tap, crack, surprise!

Piñatas are one of the most joyful traditions at Latin American celebrations. Bright, colourful and filled with treats, they bring excitement, laughter and a festive spirit to every party.

Led by Ms. Omaira del Carmen, a Venezuelan who has made Hong Kong her home for many years, families will discover the festive traditions behind piñatas and create their own donkey-shaped piñata to take home. Afterwards, keep the celebration going by enjoying your handmade piñata with family and friends, and experience the fun and excitement of a real Latin American party!
