YHA MEI HO HOUSE YOUTH HOSTEL MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL CELEBRATION:
UNDER THE MOONLIGHT WITH CHANG’E
This Mid-Autumn Festival, Mei Ho House invites everyone to journey to the moon in search of traces of Chang’e and the Rabbit, celebrating the festival together with Chang’e.
On 5 October, YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel will host a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration Under the Moonlight with Chang’e. Guests can take photos with festive decorations, enjoy a variety of workshops, game booths, marshmallows, refreshing drinks, and more. Bring your family along to experience a joyful, warm, and memorable evening with Chang’e.

Lucky Shooting Star
As meteors streak across the night sky of the moon, they leave not only a deep crater upon landing, but also bring mysterious gifts. Simply complete a few easy tasks with your game card for a chance to win various surprise prizes! Perhaps the next lucky shooting star will bring you unexpected fortune and gifts.

Workshops
Jellyfish Lantern DIY
We have selected a variety of materials suitable for lantern-making, and finally decided to feature the rare moon jellyfish as the star of our workshop. The jellyfish lanterns sway gently in the breeze, their translucent bodies glowing with a moon-like radiance. Join our workshop and you can create your very own magical jellyfish lantern.
Time: (1) 4pm – 5pm / (2) 5:30pm – 6:30pm

Moon DIY
Come to the moon and don’t come back empty-handed! On the day of the event, follow the Instagram — Heritage of Mei Ho House to receive your moon DIY kit. Head to the designated area and design your very own commemorative moon.

Game Booths
Mei Ho Got Stars
Chang’e invites everyone to join a challenge to make stars and brighten up the entire moon. The path to making a star isn’t easy — only those who complete the challenge successfully will earn the chance. If you’re familiar with tangram puzzles, you’ll have a great advantage in this challenge!

Pills Matching
Chang’e accidentally knocked over her alchemy furnace while cleaning the moon, mixing all the pills together. We need your memory and observation skills to help sort the pills back into their correct categories. If you have a sharp memory, come and assist Chang’e in solving this tricky problem!

Snack Booths
Moonshmallow
Although there are no clouds on the moon to naturally make marshmallows, Chang’e can magically create them! On the day of the event, Chang’e will make moonshmallow and give it away as a festive treat. Let’s enjoy together!

Chang’e’s Magical Herbs
Since living on the moon, Chang’e has devoted herself to crafting a variety of magical herbs. This Mid-Autumn Festival, she has specially prepared several different herbs for all visitors, each with its own unique and mysterious effect. Everyone is welcome to come and have a taste!

Important Notes:
- Activities will be conducted in Cantonese.
- Only for members of “Mei Ho House Alumni Network”, free registration can be done online or on-site.
- YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel reserves the right to alter, amend or withdraw the programmes in case of weather or special circumstances.
- To coincide with the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, the Heritage of Mei Ho House will be open until 8pm, and you are welcome to visit with your family and friends.
- You are welcome to bring your lanterns, mooncakes, and fruits to share and enjoy the moonlight together. Please note that no lighting of fire is allowed in the area of the Youth Hostel.
