Christmas ‘Special 2014 – Caerphilly Medieval Christmas Market
For two days in December Caerphilly town transforms itself into a Christmas shopping paradise with 100 food, drink and craft stalls. Along with stalls there is live music, entertainment and workshops. Enter the castle’s mighty walls and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Burning of the Clocks Festival
Every year on 21 December, the shortest day of the year, Same Sky – Brighton’s community arts charity – holds the Burning of the Clocks event to symbolise the end of the year. Over 20,000 spectators enjoy a family lantern processions though town, a spectacular beach fire sculpture, firework show and live music.

Stonehenge Winter Solstice
Stonehenge is one of the wonders of the world and the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe. This was an ancient spiritual centre and thousands of people still gather to witness the Winter Solstice, the shortest night.
