YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel Open Day is back again, featuring a series of activities at Mei Ho House including guided tours, booth games, workshops, and hostel room visits that will guarantee a fun-filled day for you.

Heritage of Mei Ho House
Public Guided Tour X Talks on the Spot
The Heritage of Mei Ho House will host a Cantonese Public Guided Tour at 11:00 am, taking participants through the origins of Mei Ho House, stories of former residents in the resettlement estate, and a tour of the revitalized youth hostel rooms.
In the afternoon, enjoy Talks on the Spot, where former residents and experienced docents will share insights into the daily lives of grassroots Hong Kong citizens in the 1950s–1970s, highlight community spirit and neighbourly support, and explain the history and architectural transformation of Mei Ho House.

Childhood Games Experience
Heritage of Mei Ho House has specially prepared the “Childhood Games Experience”, inviting everyone to travel back in time and step into the joyful scenes of children playing in the 1950s and 1960s. On-site, there is also the challenge, where participants can compete in classic games and winners will receive special souvenirs. Fun for all ages!

Discover classic childhood toys at the Heritage of Mei Ho House! Some you may have only heard of, others you’ve never seen—now’s your chance to explore how children played in the past.

Visitors can stroll around the various check points of Mei Ho House to redeem exclusive limited edition souvenirs*. Hostel Room Tour | From the H-shaped Resettlement Block to Youth Hostel
The H-shaped Mei Ho House, which had undergone renovation works during the 70s, is now revitalized into a youth hostel. During the Open Day, different types of hostel rooms including Double Room, Family Room and 8-Person Dormitory Bed are open for visitors, allowing visitors to see the transformation of the historic building.
