Eligibility:
Open to all Hong Kong residents (i.e. holders of H.K.I.D. Card or H.K. Birth Certificate) at the age of five or up. |

Non-Hong Kong Residents/Overseas Visitors |
| |
Please apply for membership with the Youth Hostels Association in your native country or purchase a Hostelling International Card through the HKYHA head office or any youth hostel in Hong Kong. |
| Organization Members |
| Schools, associations and other organizations may apply for Organization Leader Cards / School Leader Cards so that relatively large groups of people, under the supervision of a responsible adult, can enjoy youth hostel services without having each person in the group subscribe membership with HKYHA. |

All membership cards are valid for one full year, starting from the last day of the issuing month for new membership subscription and from the expiry date of the previous membership for renewed subscription (Except for Life Membership).

Membership due more than 2 month after the valid day could not be renewed and the application will be treated as a new subscription. Renewed membership is valid for 12 months, starting from the expiry date on the previous membership card. |
