Pak Sha O Hostel

It only takes you a 20 minutes’ walk to enjoy the beautiful marine life offer by the Hoi Ha Marine Park. A number of hiking trails are also conveniently available in the embrace of hills and mountains. With such neighbourhood, the hostel provides an exceptionally ideal spot for stargazing, which attracts many astronomy fans along the year.

Places: for the dorms
Reservations and allocations are made on per bunk bed basis.

There are 112 bunk bed places in the dorms, divided into male dorm and female dorm: 2 dorms with 36 bed, 2 dorms with 16 beds, and 2 dorms with 4 beds. Allocation would be decided by housemasters of the dorms upon check-in.

Places: for the camp site
There are a total of 40 places at the campsite.

Scenic Spots / Leisure Activities Recommendation
1. Visit the Hoi Ha Marine Park, the first marine park in Hong Kong, where a wide variety of coral and marine life flourishes there.
2. Go hiking along the many trails in the Sai King Country Park of various levels of difficulty.
3. Enjoy group games or stargazing at the hostel.

Food/Catering
1. Walk approximately 15 minutes to Hoi Ha to enjoy meals at the village restaurants ranging from sandwiches, simple Chinese dishes, to the traditional local “Poon Choi” cuisine, which requires reservation in advance.

2. Order takeaways or deliveries from restaurants near Pak Tam Chung.

3. You may prepare your own meals in the hostel kitchen or barbeque site. Fresh seafood and other necessities can be purchased in Sai Kung town.

Transportation
1. From Choi Hung Railway Station Exit B, take a KMB bus of route no.92 or green mini-bus of route no.1 to Sai Kung Bus Terminal and then,
take a KMB bus of route no. 94 to Pak Tam Chung Bus Station, then take a green mini-bus towards Hoi Ha, alighting at the hostel shortly before the turn off to Pak Sha O Village. (On Sundays and public holidays only.)
take a KMB bus of route no. 94 to Pak Tam Chung Bus Station, then take a green mini-bus to Ko Tong Village. Proceed about 100 meters along Pak Tam Road, then turn into Hoi Hai Road and walk for about 45 minutes to the hostel.

2. From Diamond Hill Railway Station, take a KMB bus No. 96R towards
Wong Shek pier alighting at Ko Tong Village (On Sundays and public holidays only).
Proceed about 100 meters along Pak Tam Road, then turn into Hoi Hai Road and walk for about 45 minutes to the hostel.

3. Groups over 20 people may arrange a coach to the Pak Sha O Hostel directly through the Pak Tam Chung gate after registering for a temporary entrance permit to the Sai Kung Country Park. Arrangements have to be made through the YHA head office at least 14 days in advance by phone (2788-1638) or by fax (2788-3105). Please provide :
a copy of the booking confirmation slip,
the date and time of entry,
the total number of seats on the coach, and
the vehicle number.
Please present the membership card and the booking confirmation slip at the gate for entrance approval.
Sai Kung Country Park reserves the right for final approval.

The coach stopping at the Pak Sha O Hostel or at the Wong Shek Pier must depart immediately after all passengers take off. Otherwise may be subjected to the blacklisting by the Pak Tam Chung gate.
